Marquard’s Cleaners has preserved 100-year-old wedding dresses, restored World War II uniforms, and cleaned the most delicate gowns in its eight decades of operation. It is a specialized service that has not changed over the dry cleaners’ over 89 years in business. John Marquard started this idea when he opened the business in 1931 and he passed it on to the Rimell family—the attention to detail and quality.

In the mid-’60s, Marquard sold the cleaners to one of his employees, Harvey Rimell. Steve Rimell and his brother Ken, assisted their father in the business since they were “as tall as the spotting board,” developing an enthusiasm for the trade that has carried over into their years of ownership.

In 2009, Justin Brady joined the Marquard’s family and worked his way up the ranks in the business, learning the same attention to detail and quality that has been instrumental in Marquards' success for over 90 years. In 2024, Justin acquired the business from the Rimell family with the tools to continue to provide the best dry cleaning service in the St Louis area.

With long-term employees, Marquard’s marks its eighth decade as strong as when its namesake opened the business. Their longevity comes from their reputation and the consistency of the product they deliver.
